WuXi AppTec Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

We collect the information you provide directly to us, such as when you complete the account setup process to use WOS and place an order.  The types of information we collect directly from you include:

  • Contact information, such as your name, email address, mailing and/or physical address, phone number, and employer
  • Account information, such as your username, password, and associated customer account
  • Any other information you choose to provide

 We use cookies at WuXi AppTec to provide you a better customer experience using the WuXi Order System.  The cookies facilitate navigation, improve the WOS product and performance, and assist with helping WuXi AppTec better understand our customers.  Your use of the WuXi Order System constitutes your agreement to our use of cookies in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  For customers who would prefer not to consent to our use of cookies, WuXi AppTec provides other means of placing orders for our testing services.  Please contact your Account Manager or the Client Delivery group at atu.client.services@wuxiapptec.com for more information.

 

How We Use Your Information

We may use the information we collect to deliver the products you request, to maintain and customize your account, and to provide, maintain, and improve our Services.  We also use the information we collect to:

  • Communicate with you about our Services, including to provide you with order status and invoicing information
  • Respond to your requests, inquiries, comments, and suggestions
  • Conduct and administer surveys, market research, and other requests for your feedback
  • Respond to and comply with regulatory, audit, and governmental agency requests about the work we do at WuXi AppTec and the Services we provide, and
  • Protect against, identify, investigate, and respond to fraud or other illegal activity

 

 How We Share Your Information

WuXi AppTec does not share your information with third parties for marketing or advertising services; however, WuXi AppTec may share with third parties anonymized information about how this ordering platform is used to improve the customer experience, including by way of Google Analytics.  This information does not relate to your order, testing services you request, or proprietary information you provide.  This information only relates to the use of cookies as defined in this Privacy Policy, and how you interact with the platform.

 WuXi AppTec may share information you provide with third parties to whom we subcontract execution of specific Services.  You will know that Services you are requesting are subcontracted by reviewing the test method protocol for said Services.  You may also contact your Account Manager or Client Delivery representative for questions or additional information.

  

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to opt out of automated order status email updates from the WuXi Order System.  To opt out of these emails, please contact your Client Delivery group representative with your name, WOS username, company name, WuXi customer account number, and details of your request.  WuXi AppTec will make every effort to opt you out of these status updates within seven (7) business days.

 

Managing your WuXi Order System Account

At your request, WuXi will inactivate your WuXi Order System account so that it can no longer be used to place orders or access your customer data.  Due to regulatory and audit reasons, WuXi AppTec is unable to delete the data you provide as part of order placement.

 

Restricting Cookies

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default.  You can usually set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies.  Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of the WuXi Order System, prevent you from taking full advantage of the application, and negatively impact your customer experience.

 

Residents of the European Economic Area

If you are a European resident, defined for the purposes of this Privacy Policy to include residents of the European Economic Area and Switzerland, you have certain rights and protections under the law regarding the processing of your personal data.  Please note that we process your personal data when we need to use it to perform our responsibilities under our contract with you, we have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data, such as to provide or improve our Services, and/or to comply with regulatory agencies and audits.

 

Controlling your personal information

If you are a European Resident, you have the right to access personal data we hold about you and to ask that your personal data be corrected, updated, or erased.  You may also have the right to object to, or request that we restrict certain processing.  If you would like to exercise any of these rights, you may contact us using the methods as indicated below.  We will make every effort to comply with your request while ensuring that we are operating within the regulatory framework for the Services we provide.

 

California Privacy Rights

California law permits residents of California to request notice of how their information is shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes or to opt out of such sharing.  WuXi AppTec does not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.  If you are a California resident and would like a copy of this notice, please contact us using the methods as indicated below.

 

Data Retention

Our retention periods for personal data are based on business needs and legal requirements.  We retain personal data for as long as is necessary for the processing purpose(s) for which the data was collected, regulations and/or regulatory guidelines, and any other permissible, related purpose.

  

Children

WuXi AppTec does not provide any services to children, and so does not knowingly collect data from children or make the WuXi Order System available to children.

  

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time.  If we do so, we will post the updated policy on our site and will indicate when the Privacy Policy was last revised.  You should periodically review our current Privacy Policy to stay informed of our data practices.
